In St. Petersburg, the price of milk and finished dairy products will grow by 5-7%, it's optimistic forecast, said on the eve of journalists Commercial Director Piskarevsky dairy Gregory Zhitmarev. Due to the significant increase in grain prices, prices on the cow's feed rose sharply (in August compared with July - 14%). In addition, because of the unprecedented hot weather milk yield of dairy farms in Leningrad oblast decreased by 20-30%. "All this may lead to increased cost of raw milk and finished products of dairy industry",  said G. Zhitmarev.
Representatives of the City Administration and representatives of the food industry urged that city not to fear a sharp rise in food prices due to weather anomalies.
According to the deputy head of the St. Petersburg Federal Antimonopol Service of Russia Alla Petrova, in case of a sharp rise in prices for socially important goods antimomopolny body will prompt an investigation. However, as said Petrova, State has no possibility for direct regulation of retail prices nowadays.
