An electricity outage in St. Petersburg brought much of Russia's No. 2 city to a standstill during the evening rush hour. An electricity blackout caused by a failure at two substations near St. Petersburg. The blackout, which lasted for more than an hour, brought buses and subway and commuter trains to a standstill during rush hour.

The icon "Christ Pantocrator" returned to the Saviour-Elizarovsky Monastery (Pskov region).
